Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick (born October 17, 1971) is an American singer and voice actor who is best known as the founding member of the pop group ‘N Sync.

Biography

Early life

Kirkpatrick was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania and is of Irish, Scottish, Spanish and Native American descent. After going to Dalton High School, in Dalton Ohio, he performed at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida in a Doo Wop group. He often visits the Dalton Local School District, most recently in March of 2008. He visited Dalton High School, Dalton Intermediate and Elementry schools for the Read week. He autograped for students and spoke to many on the need to read for education. (*It was also noted but not yet confirmed that he was stopped by an un-named Dalton police officer on this partcular visit, however it was only due to the reason that it was 2:00 am and the officer believed that Mr. Kirkpatrick was lost. When the officer stopped him and asked where he was going, Kirkpatrick stated that he knew where he was going however he would not give the officer the information as to where in Dalton he was heading. The officer asked for Mr. Kirkpatricks license and registration, then noticing that he had stopped the former member of NSYNC whereas releaing him to go to his destination.*)After being the first runner-up for a spot in the Backstreet Boys, a disappointed Kirkpatrick approached Lou Pearlman with an idea to start another group, and thus formed the nucleus for ‘N Sync.

Other work

After ‘N Sync, Kirkpatrick originally pursued a solo career with the band Little Red Monsters, where he debuted two songs, “Jodi’s Song” and “Who am I” (the studio version of which is floating around on the internet), at the April Fool’s Ball playing with the now defunct band, Ohno. He changed the band line-up and name, regrouping as Nigel’s 11. He premiered this new act in late December of 2005 with two live shows in California. He and his second band have released new tracks “My World,” “Everybody Gets Lost,” and “Say You Will” while performing his two prior solo songs over again. From footage and audio of said performances, Kirkpatrick speaks a great deal about his emotional state since his *NSYNC bandmates were last together, while simultaneously letting down his guard to show his softer side and possibly a case of lowered self esteem.

He was taunted by Eminem in the song “Without Me”, with the lyrics “Chris Kirkpatrick, you can get your ass kicked, worse than them little Limp Bizkit bastards.” This was Eminem’s response to allegations Kirkpatrick made when Eminem was arrested for gun possession and assault in June 2000. Kirkpatrick stated “His arrest is karma. It’s really sad when people have to put everybody else down to make themselves look good. The guy’s digging himself a grave, and soon he’s not gonna have any friends.”

Between 2002 and 2005, Kirkpatrick lent his acting and vocal skills to the Nickelodeon cartoon, The Fairly Odd Parents, as the teeth-loving pop star, Chip Skylark. Chip Sylark also sang many other songs on this television show.

In October 2006, it was announced that Chris would participate in the new VH1 reality TV series, Man Band.

In 2008, Kirkpatrick is working on improving his golfing game, paying people such as Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer exorbitant sums for pointers.
